Just in Time for the Fouth...
If you've never had a "Yellow Meat Watermelon," don't deprive yourself another day. The yellow flesh is a natural mutation. The fruit has a honey-like flavor as compared to red-fleshed melons, but many of the same nutritional benefits.
We enjoy giving folks the opportunity to try something different or new and we are sampling yellow meat watermelons this weekend. We also have delicious red meat watermelons both, seeded and seedless.
Watermelons could be considered a guiltless pleasure. They not only taste delicious but they are good for you. The health benefits are worth looking up. They are high in vitamins A, and C also a significant source of vitamins B1, B5, and B6. Watermelon has high water content. This makes it hydrating and helps you feel full. Only 45 calories per cup.
We also have local Okra arriving from Ray Flowers Farm out of Summerdale Alabama. Ray will also have red okra available in the coming week. It is beautiful and thought to be more tender.
We are still getting in peas, butter beans, squash cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, red and gold potatoes, beans, and peaches. This past week we started receiving shishito peppers from Herb and Pepper Farm. They also will have lemon drop peppers and peachy reapers. Hot, Hot stuff.
Berries are becoming short in supply for Blues and Blackberries. The season is much to short this year. Squash has slowed down as well due to the hot weather.
In time for July 4th, we look forward to getting our first deliveries of Sand Mountain Tomatoes. Please come and check it out.
Thanks for looking.
We have received many new items in the past week. Please come and check it all out.
